206 Hitt Bull
She changes her derby name more often than some of her teammates wash their pads, say hello to Riot Squad’s Hitt Bull! Her cheeky smile is infectious but don’t let it fool you – she’s a force to be reckoned with on track.
Where are you from?
Originally I’m from Harrow on the Hill but I’ve lived ALL over the shop (around 17 different houses since I was 18) – hence the dodgy accent.
How long have you been skating with CRD?
Around a year and a half – I transferred in September 2014.
Do you have a pre-bout preparation ritual?
Eat! I love to eat… I also always listen to something I can sing to on the drive.
What’s your current skate set-up?
I have Antik Ar1s (the old style) with Mag Avenger plates and some awesome Rollerbones DOTDs that I haven’t changed in three years! I have new wheels, just can’t bring myself to let that decal rub off…
What have been your standout, all-time favourite moments from your CRD career?
Ooh that’s a toughie. Probably my first game with Vice Squad, a fantastic faux-star- pass-leading- to- real-star- pass-unexpectedly moment with Dirty Dancer in Paris and my first Riot Squad game. Oh and we can’t leave out that Paris trip…CRD party almost as hard as they train!
What are your goals for the future in your skating career?
I would like to not get any new injuries whilst maintaining my current ones so that I can keep skating!
Other than that, I guess I just want to be as good as I can be and keep learning.
Which skaters inspire you?
My teammates constantly inspire me. There’s always someone that I can learn something new from; faster/more accurate footwork, hitting techniques, how to take a hit etc. In terms of fan-girling, I would have to say Smarty Pants from Texas. She’s a brilliant skater with some awesome advice.
What do you do when you’re not skating?
I walk. A lot. And I eat even more! My dogs and my friends keep me busy; almost as much as Rupaul’s Drag Race…
Tell us one fact about you that not even your team mates know about you.
This is REALLY hard! I’m an open book.. Hmm. I used to sing really well and (in a time way before roller derby) I sang at a few shows in the West End – even managed a solo in the Dominion Theatre when I was 15.
Are you a lover or a fighter?
It depends how much I like you…
